A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: One of Belgiums greatest talents on the decks AliA.
Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight to the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.
Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?
Warm, soulful & loving feelings which reflect the hope & need to be together on the dance floor soon.
What message does the music you play convey?
That you can perfectly combine old & new music without necessary noticing it. That music continues to be influenced by a broad universe of genres or energies, which makes it interesting.
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
My music taste is very broad. In my sets I can go from jazz to off beat uk belters, to ukg or whatever. As long as there's a way of soul in the music which is touching me. For this one, I was in the broken beat mood, which is also bringing a very diverse mix of jazz, funk, soul, brazil etc. Always searching & combining old & new music which is timeless.
Who should release a new album/EP already?
Been waiting for a new D'Angelo album for a while. Probably he's releasing something real soon. I guess everyone was waiting on this.
If the mix would be a soundtrack, what audio-visual content would support it best?
Definitely Lang Leve De Liefde. ;)
