A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: It is D-Felic laying it down with a well-executed blend of soulful house, including some sidesteps towards broken-beat and more for your earbuds. After recently releasing his single 'Let It All Out' on Wicked Wax, this mix perfectly sets the mood to celebrate the release and excites us for his EP 'rEVOlution' to see the light of day soon. Let it brighten up your day more than the sun has done so far this summer!
Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight into the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.
Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?
The best feeling to describe this mix is joy. The joy of making music again, the joy of DJ'ing again. I had lost that feeling a couple of years ago. But it is back!
What message does the music you play convey?
Freedom, rEVOLution, enjoy life.
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
It is spot on. Some old and new sounds and vibes.
Who should release a new album/EP already?
I know I'm releasing an EP soon. But I would love to see Bugz in the Attic, Maddslinky release some new stuff. I know my friend Kenny Summit is also coming with some new heat soon!
What's magical about music?
Its ability to move you, your body, your mind, your emotions. Or all at the same time!
What is your main source for finding new music?
Streaming services, Bandcamp, Social Media, 🏴☠️ Pirate noises 🏴☠️, Discogs.
If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?
Roadtrip with a lot of sunshine. Or me working in my new home in France.
Thanks a lot for checking out my mix! Soon my EP rEVOlution will be released on Wicked Wax, feel free to check that out as well!
D-Felic
