A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: Maastricht-based heavy vinyl collector Jef Hecker.
Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight to the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.
Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?
Love, hope, inspiration, joy, warmth, gratitude, passion, optimism, admiration, motivation and so on. No room for negativity.
What message does the music you play convey?
Jam with peace, hope and security. It's a reference to one of my all-time favourite gospel albums produced by Joe Mitchell.
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
I'm focused on all styles of music, not one specific genre. I think this mix reflects on that.
Who should release a new album/EP already?
D'Angelo, Arthur Verocai, Planty Herbs, Kid Sublime, Pete Rock, Duke Hugh and many more.
If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?
Kaubôi Bibappu (Cowboy Bebop). So many great memories of watching this show as a kid. I reckon this mix would blend with the visuals and story.
I hope you enjoy this mix. I put a lot of effort and love in selecting these records. Love one another and keep it real. Shout out to my brother from another mother Bobby van Putten aka Planty Herbs.
