A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: Jumelage, a crate-digging artist based in Amsterdam. With a great passion for avant-garde music, nu-disco grooves and underground house he collects deep-burning house records dating back to the 90's. With a range from slow jazzy beats towards deep echoing bass drums, Jumelage knows how to use records to their fullest potential.

Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight into the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.
Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?
This mix encapsulates a range of emotions, beginning with nostalgia and warmth, inspired by cherished memories of family holidays, with my father playing Ibiza lounge classics in the car. Already making me excited for our upcoming end-of-the-year trip to Paris. Along the way, it transforms into a sense of discovery, reflecting the thrill of uncovering new artists and sounds, that I love to play out as an opening DJ. As the journey progresses, the mix evolves toward a lively, communal energy, celebrating the freedom and exhilaration found in house dance cyphers, where each individual contributes their unique rhythm to the collective groove.
What message does the music you play convey?
The music I play reflects my belief in the power of shared experiences. It celebrates the dance floor as a space where social, cultural, and personal stories come alive, with dance as the universal language. With each track, I aim to remind listeners of the timeless connection between music and movement, how grooves born in the past continue to inspire future generations. My sets are also an invitation for others to discover their own meaning within the journey, celebrating togetherness through the rich and diverse spectrum of house music. It’s an opportunity to craft an unforgettable atmosphere, always striving to bring joy and energy to the dancers.
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
This mix perfectly captures where my musical journey stands right now—balanced between nostalgia and the thrill of unheard inspiring records from the record bins. It’s a fusion of deep, jazzy house grooves and soulful rhythms that echo the charm of ’90s classics while embracing the vibrant pulse of today’s underground scene. I’m deeply influenced by the ethos of house dance and its inclusive energy, which has not only shaped my appreciation for the music I’ve discovered so far but also fuels my excitement for what lies ahead in the near future.
Who should release a new album/EP already?
Honestly, I should probably say; release my own EP first—if only I could finally finish my endless changing music concepts! I’m getting there, I promise… slowly but surely. Anyhow, if we’re talking about legends that always seem to inspire me, it’s getting quite hard to choose when there’s so much greatness already out there. That said, I think the world could always use a bit more Peven Everett’s originality paired with grooves from one of house music's finest producers.
What is magical about music?
The continuous reconnection/association we can have with a single track, It can be a bodily, sonically or mental journey that keeps us connected to certain genres, experiences and memories.
What is your main source for finding new music?
Dance classes, record digging sessions and clubbing.
If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?
Probably a clip that starts with a camera panning over the back seat of an old Mazda MX-5, cruising cabrio-style toward Paris on a perfect midsummer day. We glide past the Louvre and end up at Place Dauphine for a dreamy dinner as the golden hour sets in. Then, just as the sun dips below the horizon, we make our way to a nightclub where we encounter a room filled with dancers. This actually sounds like a great road trip to me!
I hope you will enjoy listening back to this mix. I am curious where it takes you ;)
